What is Ulla?

Ulla is an iPhone app for placing crystals around your bed or on your nightstand. You choose what you want from the night, such as deeper sleep, a quiet mind or feeling safe, and Ulla draws a grid of stones for your bed. You can move stones, swap them and save the setup.

Do I need to own crystals to use it?

No. You can draw a cocoon first and find the stones later. If you already have stones, put them on your shelf in the app and Ulla will use what you own first.

How do I start?

Open the app and tap Shape my cocoon. Choose who the bed is for, pick what you need, and tap Draw my cocoon. If you'd rather start small, choose a few stones on your nightstand. You can also start with an empty bed and place every stone yourself.

How do I move a stone?

Hold a stone for a moment, then drag it where you want it. Drop it on another stone to swap them. Tap a stone to see what it's traditionally used for and to write an intention for it.

Which stones are in the app?

The library has 125 stones and minerals, from rose quartz and amethyst to rarer ones like moldavite, Libyan desert glass and Super Seven. Search by name, feeling or chakra. If a stone is missing, you can add your own.

Can I have more than one bed?

Yes. Add as many beds and nightstands as you like. They all show on the Beds page, and you can tap any of them to look closer. A nightstand can be linked to one side of a bed.

We share a bed. How does that work?

Choose Two of us. Each of you picks what you need, and you choose how your grids meet:

• One cocoon, a single grid around you both
• One heart, your own grids joined in the middle
• Soft line, a gentle line of selenite between you
• Tourmaline wall, a firm boundary down the middle

Can I make a cocoon for my child's bed?

Yes, with care. Ulla asks how old the child is first.

• Under 3: Ulla won't build a grid. Small objects are a choking risk, so keep any stones on a high shelf, out of reach.
• 3 to 5: large stones only, sewn into a pouch under the mattress. Check the pouch now and then.
• 6 and up: stones stay under the mattress. Your child can hold one with you while you set an intention.

For children, Ulla leaves out stones that are toxic, brittle or that shed dust, such as malachite and azurite. Crystals are never toys.

What is the shelf?

The shelf is where you keep track of the stones you own. You can make more than one shelf and name them. When you draw a cocoon, Ulla can build it from what's already on your shelf.

What is the check-in?

Three quick questions about how your mind and body feel tonight. Ulla suggests a few stones to try. It's a small evening ritual, not a test or a health tool.

How does Ulla know the moon phase?

Ulla calculates the moon's phase and sign on your phone from astronomical formulas, so it works offline. It shows the next full and new moon, the sign each falls in, and where your cocoon is in the cycle.

What is the cleansing window?

The night of the full moon and a day on either side. Ulla counts down to it and shows ways to cleanse your stones: a tuning fork, a selenite plate overnight, or juniper smoke. Some stones, like selenite, shouldn't go in water. Each stone's page tells you how to care for it.

How do horoscopes work in Ulla?

Add a birthday to each side of a bed and Ulla works out the sun sign, then favours stones traditionally linked to it. A nightstand linked to a bed side takes that side's sign. Your birthday is only used for this and stays on your phone.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-up and no login.

Where is my data stored?

Only on your iPhone. Your beds, shelf, intentions, night notes and birthdays never leave your phone. Ulla has no servers and no analytics, and it doesn't track you. It works without an internet connection.

What happens if I delete the app or get a new phone?

Deleting Ulla deletes everything you've made in it. Your Ulla data is part of your iPhone's own backup, so restoring a backup to a new phone should bring it back. There's no other copy anywhere.

What does Ulla cost?

Ulla is a one-time purchase on the App Store. There's no subscription and no ads.

Can I buy the crystals through Ulla?

Not yet. We're working on small kits with the stones for a cocoon, sourced with care.

Is Ulla on iPad or Android?

Ulla is for iPhone for now.

Are crystals a treatment for anything?

No. Ulla is for ritual and reflection. Crystal meanings are traditional associations, not medical advice or treatment. If you have trouble sleeping or worries about your health, talk to a doctor.
